This will come as a surprise: I don’t like to shop (often). I know what you’re thinking: This girl owns a store, but doesn’t like to shop? Let me explain. I am not usually captivated by promises of deep discounts. I don’t feel compelled or obligated to hustle to the back of a store because I saw sale posters in the window. The reason is simple: I prefer to invest in items I truly love that will serve me on many occasions. That’s why so many of our product descriptions are written to help you envision the possibilities of the item you’re considering.
Residing in New England my entire life has proven the value of multi-seasonal possessions. With four distinct and very different weather patterns all in one year, switching out the closet every 3 months would be a daunting and unpleasant task if I had a completely new wardrobe to unveil (and another to pack away). Simply said, I like to own fewer things that I love a lot and use often. I am the girl who preaches the more you spend on an item, the more you should enjoy wearing it. (The truer statement is “the more you love an item,” but cost and affection often come as a package deal.) During wedding season, I have been known to dress down “fancy” silk dresses for work with a jean jacket and flat metallic sandals. I believe the same wear-it-when-you-want-to principle applies to statement jewelry, which is why our product descriptions often challenge buyers to consider the same treasure for their next special event as well as their next brunch with friends. Why not?
One of my favorite new pieces is our cozy knit sweater in a beautiful apricot color with just a touch of embellishment. Here are some inspiration boards of how this cozy cutie can be worn throughout the year.
